Prep notes
Costume prep notes on every scene, ready for the fitting.
For costume & wardrobe continuity
Haystack is the continuity tool built for wardrobe departments. Track what every character wears in every scene, keep your reference and wear notes in one place, and step onto set knowing exactly what matched last time.
out of order Shooting out of order is brutal on costume. Scene 48 today, scene 12 tomorrow, and the same jacket has to read identically in both. Multiply that by every character, every change, every day, and continuity lives or dies on how fast you can find what you shot last time.
CALL SHEET
Sc. 48 — today
Sc. 12 — tomorrow
same jacket, both
Built around the shoot
Every change, wear note and photo hangs off a scene, so nothing floats free. Sort by shoot date to match the call sheet, or by scene to follow the story. When the schedule jumps around, Haystack keeps the thread.
Changes
Set up each character's changes, then link them to every scene they're in. Open any scene and see exactly who's in it and what they're wearing, down to the change. Remove a character from a scene and nothing is lost; add them back and their changes and notes are right where you left them.
The part you'll use a hundred times a day
Shoot straight from your phone on set and it lands keyed to the right scene, character and change. Add wear notes for the detail that matters (sleeves rolled, top button open, fresh mud on the left knee), and drop annotations right onto the photo so nothing hides in a caption.
Garments & boxes
Log each garment with the detail you need (size, colour, brand, source), assign it to the characters who wear it, and pack it into a box. Tag a garment or a box with NFC and a tap of your phone opens its record. No more digging the rails for the hero coat.
Minutes, not days
Upload the script and Haystack reads it for you, pulling out scenes and characters so you're not typing a breakdown from a blank page. Review, adjust, done. When a revised draft lands, bring it in and see exactly what changed.
Stages, tunnels, the far end of a unit base. Haystack works offline and syncs the moment you get a bar back, so you're never stuck waiting on reception to log a change. It even keeps itself current in the background while your phone's in your pocket.
